King of the Ring

Cards #770
Lava Ruins Arena, Betelgeuse, Orion

The final installment of the joint effort between the GWF and CPC in their "mega-tournament" series was the King of the Ring Tournament, held on the GWF's 770th overall card at the Lava Ruins Arena, Betelgeuse, Orion.

More history was made in this one tournament than in the last five years of GWF action. Tournament stipulations:

a 64-man single elimination format, with the first round pairings being randomly determined

all GWF and CPC singles titles were defended in every match the champion had throughout the tournament; the only exception being a Cruiserweight title holder did not defend against someone outside of their weight class

Finals

Chaos pounded down Mandrill and easily won the KOTR for the second year in-a-row, and added the CPC Title to his GWF, I-P and TV gold.

The aftermath of this tournament is staggering. One week after winning his fifth GWF Championship against Wraith at Clash of the Champions XIV, Chaos wins the KOTR for the second straight year and adds the I-P title for the fifth time, and TV and CPC Titles to his collection.

Chaos will be forced to relinquish the I-P and TV titles. Mandrill, by reaching the finals, will be named the new Interplanetary champion.

In the essence of fairness, the other two semifinalists Colossus and Blacklash will have a match for the vacant TV title.

Four wrestlers hold multiple championships. Here are the current title holders:
